| Remove | ||
1 | Remove lock rod for interlock. | ||
2 | Remove shift module. | ||
3 | Remove main shutoff valve. | ||
4 | Remove neutral position switch (S28). | ||
5 | Disconnect electrical connector from splitter group solenoid valve (Y36). | ||
6 | Remove cap (1) from shift housing (3). | ||
7 | Remove cap (4) from shift housing (3). | ||
8 | Heat up grub screw (5) using suitable means and unscrew from detent segment (2). | ||
9 | Heat up grub screw (6) using suitable means and unscrew from shift housing (3). | ||
10 | Pull detent segment (2) off gearshift shaft (8). | ||
11 | Remove retaining ring (10) from gearshift shaft (8). | ||
12 | Remove shift housings (3, 9). | ||
13 | Remove gearshift shaft (8). | To do so, push the gearshift shaft (8) toward the shift housing (9) using a suitable object, e.g. hammer handle. | |

14 | Clean sealing surfaces on shift housings (3, 9) and on cap (1). | Assembly cleaner | |
| Install | ||
15 | Install gearshift shaft (8). | ||
16 | Install shift housing (3) with new O-rings and new sealant. | Shift housing with bearing flange to transmission | |

17 | Coat grub screw (6) with thread locking compound and screw into shift housing (3). | Thread locking adhesive, Loctite 241 | |
18 | Install shift housing (9) with new sealant. | Shift housing with bearing flange to transmission | |

19 | Attach new retaining ring (10) to gearshift shaft (8). | ||
20 | Push detent segment (2) onto gearshift shaft (8). | The long, flat side of the detent segment (2) must point toward the shift housing (3). | |
21 | Coat grub screw (5) with thread locking compound and screw into detent segment (2). | Thread locking adhesive, Loctite 241 | |
22 | Coat new cap (4) with thread locking compound and install in shift housing (3). | Thread locking adhesive, Loctite 241 | |
23 | Attach cap (1) with new sealant to shift housing (3). | Cover to shift housing | |

24 | Connect electrical connector to splitter group solenoid valve (Y36). | ||
