Disassemble, assemble countershaft

Disassemble/assemble

 Danger!

Risk of injury to skin and eyes caused by handling hot or glowing objects.

Wear safety gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses, if necessary.

Remove countershaft (1)

Pull rear tapered roller bearing (3) and front tapered roller bearing (5) off countershaft (1)

 Use aluminum protective jaws in order to avoid damage.

 Clamp countershaft (1) in the vise. Fit the gripper on the relevant tapered roller bearing and clamp securely. Pull off relevant tapered roller bearing using puller.

 Assembly: Heat rear tapered roller bearing (3) and front tapered roller bearing (5) to approx. 120 °C with the heating plate and drive all the way onto the countershaft (1).



Remove circlip (8)

4

Press constant countershaft gear (4), 6th gear countershaft gear (6) and 3rd and 4th gear countershaft gear (7) off countershaft (1) in succession

 If necessary, heat constant countershaft gear (4), 6th gear countershaft gear (6) and 3rd and 4th gear countershaft gear (7) with hot air gun to press off.

 Assembly: Heat 3rd and 4th gear countershaft gear (7), 6th gear countershaft gear (6) and constant countershaft gear (4) to max. 180 °C using heating plate and drive onto countershaft (1) in succession.

Clean all parts, check for wear and replace parts if necessary

Assemble in the reverse order
