Dismantle, assemble drive shaft

Disassemble/assemble

 Danger!

Risk of injury to skin and eyes caused by handling hot or glowing objects.

Wear safety gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses, if necessary.

Remove drive shaft (1)

Pull tapered roller bearing (2) off drive shaft (1)

 Heat inner race of tapered roller bearing (2) using hot air gun.

 Assembly: Heat inner race of tapered roller bearing (2) to approx. 120 °C with a hot plate and push onto drive shaft (1).

When it has cooled, the tapered roller bearing (2) must lie against the end stop of the drive shaft (1).



Remove locking ring (5) and remove oil guide (4) from drive shaft (1)

Remove baffle plate (3)

 Assembly: Mount baffle plate (3) all the way onto the drive shaft (1) using a suitable drift.

Clean all parts and check for wear, renew if necessary.

Assemble in the reverse order
