Disassemble

Remove output shaft for power take-off 2 (15) and the tapered roller bearing (14) using the  puller Ø 28-37 mm and the  counter stay.

Detach tapered roller bearing (14) from output shaft on power take-off 2 (15).

 To do so, the following special tools are required:
 Hand pump,  hydraulic hose (assembly),  hydraulic cylinder,  adapter,  adapter and  gripper.

Detach tapered roller bearing (16) using the  puller from the output shaft on the power take-off 2 (15).

Using the internal extractor  and countering support  , pull the tapered roller bearing outer race (16.1) out of the housing (1).

Remove the shim (17) from the housing (1).

Assembly

Heat up both tapered roller bearings (14, 16) to approx. 80_°C, mount onto the power take-off 2 output shaft (15) and reposition using a suitable drift.

Insert shim (17) in the housing (1).

Measure from housing sealing surface on shim (17) using depth gauge, dimension (A).

Measure thickness of retaining ring (13) using depth gauge, dimension "B".

Install circlip (13) in the housing (1).

Measure from housing sealing surface on retaining ring (13) using depth gauge, dimension (C).

 Pull retaining ring (13) upwards here so that the play in the groove does not lead to any measurement errors.

Remove circlip (13) from the housing (1).

Place tapered roller bearing outer races (14.1, 16.1) on the tapered roller bearings.

Measure height of power take-off (PTO 2) output shaft (15) using depth gauge, dimension (D).

Calculate dimension "E":
Dimension "E" = dimension "A" - dimension "B" - dimension "C".

 Dimension "E" must be greater than dimension (D) by the amount of the axial play specified in the table.
Aim for an axial play of 0.05_mm. Compensate for any deviations by installing an appropriate shim (17.
The actual axial play can be determined as follows:
Dimension "E" – Dimension "D" = Actual axial play.

Insert shim (17) in the housing (1).

Install tapered roller bearing outer race (16.1) in the housing (1) using a suitable drift.

Insert power take-off 2 output shaft (15) into housing (1).

Install tapered roller bearing outer race (14.1) using a suitable drift.
