1 | Install bearing outer race (3) into the housing using a suitable drift. |
Do not insert shim for the measuring procedure. |
2 | Insert output shaft in the housing. |
3 | Install bearing outer race (2) all the way into the housing using a suitable drift. |
4 | Install retaining ring (1). |
5 | With the feeler gauge at two opposite points (A), determine the gap between bearing outer race (2) and retaining ring (1). |
6 | Calculate thickness of required shim. |
The thickness of the required shim must be lesser than the determined value by the specified value of axial play. |
7 | Remove retaining ring (1), output shaft and bearing outer race (3) again. |
For this, the following special tools are required: the internal extractor, the puller Ø 28-37 mm, the threaded pin and counter stay. |
