1 Fit new seal on housing.
2 Insert centering ring (22) into housing and fit free of clearance using strip clamps.
The input shaft must rotate freely.

3 Measure using depth gauge from centering ring (22) on seal (9) of housing (8), dimension (B).

4 Insert existing shim (21) into housing cover (20) or into shift housing of second output.
5 Measure using depth gauge from sealing surface of housing cover (20) or shift housing of second output to shim (21), dimension A.
6 Calculate dimension C: Dimension A - dimension B = dimension C.
A new seal is compressed approx. 0.05 mm when installed. Dimension C must therefore be 0.05 mm larger than the required axial play.
7 Compensate for any deviation using suitable shim (21).
