Remove

Remove cap from timing case.

Only if the transmission is attached to an engine.

 Attach turning device (1) to timing case Engine 460.9  Engine 936.9  Engine 470.9, 471.9, 473.9  .

Only if the transmission is attached to an engine.

Set marking (A) on power take-off drive shaft to the 10 o-clock position.

 If the transmission is attached to an engine, then turn with the  turning device; if the transmission is removed turn at the drive shaft of the power take-off.

Remove power take-off drive shaft (2) with ball bearing (5) and cap of oil pump (3).

Remove cap of oil pump (3) from power take-off drive shaft (2).

Remove retaining ring (6) and detach ball bearing (5) from power take-off drive shaft (2) using the  puller, two-armed.

Install

Install cap of oil pump (3).

 The markings (B) on the oil pump cap (3) and on the housing must match.

Heat ball bearing (5) to max. 80 °C, slide onto power take-off drive shaft (2) and secure with retaining ring (6).

Install power take-off drive shaft (2).

 The markings (A) on the power take-off drive shaft (2) must be in the 10 o-clock position.

Remove turning device (1) from timing case.

Only if the transmission is attached to an engine.

Install cap on timing case Engine 460.9  Engine 936.9  Engine 470.9, 471.9, 473.9  .
