1 Measure dimension "A" from the end face of the countershaft to the retaining ring (32) ( depth gauge).
2 Measure dimension "B" from the end face of the countershaft to the bearing outer race (33).
3 Measure dimension "C" from the upper edge to the bearing seat of the bearing bore in the transmission cover.
4 Measure dimension "D" from the upper edge to the drive plate (23) in the transmission cover.
5 Calculation example for determining the axial play actual dimension:
Dimension "b" = 16.40 mm
- Dimension "A" = 16.30 mm
Dimension "E" = 0.10 mm
Dimension "D" = 15.00 mm
- Dimension "C" = 14.40 mm
Dimension "F" = 0,60 mm
Dimension "F" = 0,60 mm
+Dimension "E" = 0.10 mm
Actual dimension = 0.70 mm
Specified play = 0.10 to 0.20 mm
Actual dimension = 0.70 mm
- Permissible axial play = 0.10 mm
Shims = 0,60 mm
Adjusting disks are available in the thicknesses: 0.20; 0.30 mm.
6 Insert the adjusting disks (22) when installing the countershaft.
