Notes on compressed air connection systems | |||
| Remove | ||
1 | Switch off ignition. | ||
2 | Disconnect electrical connector (5) from range group travel sensor (B504). | ||
3 | Detach compressed-air lines (21, 22) from range group cylinder (1). | ||
4 | Detach compressed-air lines from compressed-air connections (23) of range group cylinder (1). | Only on transmission with power take-off. | |
5 | Admit compressed air to compressed-air connection for "Low-speed" range group position and switch shift piston (7) of range group to "Low-speed" position. | ||
6 | Remove range group cylinder (1). | ||
7 | Remove O-rings (2, 3) from range group cylinder (1). | ||
8 | Remove O-ring (6) on transmission. | ||
9 | Remove sealing ring (4) from shift piston (7). | ||
| Install | ||
10 | Install new sealing ring (4) on shift piston (7) and fill cavity between the two sealing lips of sealing ring (4) with lubricant. | Klueber Polylub GLY 801 grease | |
11 | Coat new O-ring (6) with lubricant and insert into transmission. | Klueber Polylub GLY 801 grease | |
12 | Coat new O-rings (2, 3) with lubricant and install on range group cylinder (1). | Slide on O-ring (2) until it abuts. | |

14 | Attach compressed-air lines (21, 22) to range group cylinder (1). | ||
15 | Attach compressed-air lines to compressed-air connection (23) of range group cylinder (1). | Only on transmission with power take-off. | |
16 | Connect electrical connector (5) to range group travel sensor (B504). | ||
17 | Connect vehicle diagnosis system and switch on ignition. | Only if a new range group cylinder (1) was installed. | |
