Only pour brake fluid into suitable and appropriately marked containers. Wear protective clothing and eye protection when handling brake fluid.

Bleeding

Clean area surrounding brake fluid reservoir.

Assembly cleaner

Detach filler neck (3) from air filter housing.

 To do so, press in safety springs and unhook filler neck (3).

Mark fill level of brake fluid on brake fluid reservoir.

Unscrew cap from brake fluid reservoir.

Attach filling unit at brake fluid reservoir.



 Do not switch on the filling unit yet. Observe manufacturer's operating instructions.

Remove

Remove cover from connection fitting (4).

Bleeding

Switch on filling unit.

 Set pressure to 2.0 bar.

Plug hose of bleed bottle onto connection fitting (4).

Turn connection fitting (4) counterclockwise.

Bleed clutch actuation system.

 Allow brake fluid to continue pouring out until it is clean and free of bubbles.

Close connection fitting (4).

Bleed central clutch release bearing via connection fitting (4).


This work procedure must be maintained at all times.
Otherwise, there could be damage to the clutch operation system.

 Aid of helper required.

 To do so, fully operate clutch pedal, turn connection fitting (4) counterclockwise, allow brake fluid to pour out for 3 s, close connection fitting (4) and release clutch pedal. Repeat process 10 times.

Switch off filling unit.

 Pressure must drop for approx. 60 s to ambient pressure (0.0 bar on measuring instrument).

Switch on filling unit.

 Build up pressure of 2.0 bar for approx. 10 s.

Switch off filling unit.

Install cover on connection fitting (4).

Remove filling unit from brake fluid reservoir.



Collect any drops of brake fluid using a suitable rag.
The paintwork can otherwise be damaged.

 Observe manufacturer's operating instructions.

Correct fill level of brake fluid in brake fluid reservoir.

 Observe the marking on the brake fluid reservoir.

Screw cap onto brake fluid reservoir.

Attach filler neck (3) at air filter housing.



Check

Check clutch operation system for proper operation.

Check clutch operation system for leak tightness.

 Visual inspection only.
