| Remove and install | ||
1 | Disconnect the master switch
2 | Open the vehicle's front cover
Danger! | Risk of poisoning from swallowing brake fluid. Risk of burns from eye contact with brake fluid | All models
3 | With suction, remove the brake fluid from the reservoir | Thoroughly drain the hydraulic clutch actuation system, making use of the appropriate bleeding equipment.
Catch the fluid in a suitable container
4 | Remove the hydraulic reservoir (1) | Installing: Utilize a new elastic ring (7) for connection on cylinder (8).
5 | Detach the connections (A) of the metal pipe, final (13) and intermediate (11), in the inlet of the gearbox | The metal piping are not to be bent or forced during their removal, handling or installation.
6 | In case there are clamps installed, remove the nuts (28), the screws (26) with the plain washers (27) and remove the metal pipes together with the clamps (25) | Eventual plastic clamps (11) securing wiring harnesses or other pipes have to be cut at removal.
Installing: Utilize new plastic clamps (11).
7 | Slightly open the clamps (25) and remove them from the metal pipes | Installing: Apply new clamps (25).
8 | To remove the intermediate hose (12) | Secure the hose by the hexagon of the connections (C) and loosen the superimposed connections of the metal pipe in (A).
9 | Remove the hose (10) at the outlet of the hydraulic master cylinder (8) | To remove, loosen first the connection (A) of the metal pipe (11) and remove it from the connection (C), at last, remove the connection (B) from the master cylinder (8).
To install the hose (6) connect it first to the cylinder (5) at connection (B) and later connect the metal pipe (C) securing (C) and threading the connection (A).
| Clean | ||
10 | Clean all connections with drugstore alcohol, including the pipe | The hydraulic components are not to be cleaned with gasoline, kerosene or Diesel oil. Oil based products damage the rubber made components.
Apply dry and clean compressed air in the pipes.
In case they will be stored, they must have their ends protected by appropriate plastic plugs.
| Check: | ||
11 | Metal pipes | Dented, deformed or with their connections in bad conditions are to be replaced.
12 | Flexible hoses | With long service, brittle or deteriorated, are to be replaced
13 | Install in reverse order | Observe that the pipes will have to be connected first to the hydraulic cylinders and between each other. Next, they will have to be accommodated adjusting the clamps in the openings of the supports (22).
14 | Refill the hydraulic system with fresh brake fluid | Utilize specified brake fluid.
15 | Bleed the hydraulic system
16 | Check the tightness of the hydraulic system
17 | Check the clutch for perfect operation |
