| Remove | ||
1 | Remove the servo hydraulic and pneumatic cylinder (8). Check its conditions. If necessary, repair it or replace it.
2 | Remove the gearbox. | ||
3 | Remove the clutch plate (2.1 or 2.2) along with the clutch disc (1). | Loosen the bolts (4) alternately, in a cross pattern. Loosen them gradually, so as to avoid excessive unilateral load on the plate. Please observe the mounting position of the clutch disc.
In case of double-disc clutch (MFZ 2x400), remove the full set. Do not detach the plate from built-in clutch disc and intermediate ring.
| Check | ||
4 | Check the conditions of the clutch plate (2.1 or 2.2) and clutch disc (1). | In case of cracks, signs of overheating and/or wear of the friction surface:
Replace the clutch plate and/or the clutch disc.
5 | Check the conditions of the engine flywheel. | In case of cracks and/or damage of the friction surface:
Repair the engine flywheel
6 | Check the conditions of the engine flywheel guide bearing. | In case of identifiable wear or faulty operation:
Replace the bearing | |||
7 | Check the conditions of the release bearing/clutch bearing (5). | In case of identifiable wear or faulty operation:
Replace the clutch plate.
8 | Check the conditions of the clutch fork assembly (6), for smoothness /ease of movement. | In case of faulty operation:
Remove the clutch fork assembly (6) and perform the required corrections.
9 | Check the fluid of the clutch drive system for contamination. | In case of fluid contamination, wash the system thoroughly and replace the fluid. Check also the conditions of the master cylinder. If necessary, remove it and repair it:
Suspended pedal assembly, with individual brackets.
10 | Check the pneumatic clutch drive system. | In case of contamination of the pneumatic system with water, bleed off the tanks and check the conditions of the drain valve. In case of contamination of the pneumatic system with engine oil, check the conditions of the air compressor.
11 | Lightly grease the clutch disc's (1) hub spline and check its ease of movement on the main shaft. | The disc should move smoothly on the main shaft, free of excessive clearance. Dispose of the excess grease (risk of clutch lining contamination).
| Install | ||
12 | Using the centering mandrel (10), center the clutch disc (1) on the engine flywheel.
Please observe the mounting position of the clutch disc. The larger side of the hub should face the gearbox side. Remove the centering mandrel only after tightening the plate fixing bolts.
In the case of double-disc clutch (MFZ 2x400), when replacing the clutch disc (engine side), replace the clutch plate assembly, along with the built-in disc (gearbox side).
13 | Install the clutch plate (2.1 or 2.2).
| |||
In the case of double-disc clutch (MFZ 2x400), when replacing the clutch plate assembly, also replace the clutch disc (engine side).
In the case of single-disc clutch (MFZ 430), from VALEO, remove the existing tension clamps (3), after tightening the plate.
Tighten the bolts (4) alternately, in a cross pattern and gradually. While tightening, continuously check if the centering mandrel can be easily dislodged. If the clutch disc is installed eccentrically, there will be problems while installing the gearbox.
14 | Rotate the release bearing/clutch bearing (5) until the stop-pin (5.1) stands vertically, as per position A.
15 | Install the gearbox. | Before installing, lightly grease the clutch fork assembly (6), on the contact area with the release bearing/clutch bearing (5). When installing the gearbox, pull the clutch fork assembly (6) through the opening for the servo hydraulic and pneumatic cylinder (8), so that the rollers on the fork (6) accommodate correctly on the release bearing/clutch bearing (5) collar.
16 | Install the servo hydraulic and pneumatic cylinder (8).
17 | Fill up and bleed off the clutch drive system. |
