Remove glow output stage

Drain off about 3 liters of coolant at cooler drain valve

 Collect coolant in a clean container.

 Installation: Replace the drained off coolant quantity up to the marking on coolant expansion reservoir.

Remove coolant hose (20)

 Hose clamp pliers

Unclip coolant hose (3) and place to one side

Disconnect electrical connection (14) at viscous fan clutch (10)

Remove screw/bolt (13) and place electrical line (12) to one side

Remove screw/bolt (15) and turn support (16)

Unclip cover (2) from fan shroud (1)

Unscrew viscous fan clutch (10) with a open end wrench (11) and counterholder (8) and lay in the fan shroud (1)

 Place counterholder (8) or Engine 272 in model 906 counterholder on screw/bolt (7) and unfasten viscous fan clutch (10) clockwise.

Slacken fan shroud (1)

 Engine 272 in model 906
Unlock fan shroud (1) at catch hooks (4) and pull upwards out of the guides (5) (arrow).

Unlock fan shroud (1) at catch hooks (4) and pull upwards out of the guides (5, 6) (arrow).

Remove fan cowl (1) with viscous fan clutch (10) upwards


Remove fan cowl (1) with viscous fan clutch (10) carefully.
Neighboring assembly parts can get damaged otherwise.

Install in the reverse order



 Danger !

Risk of accident from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running.

Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.
