1 | Turn off the main switch or disconnect the negative battery cable | Loosen the screw of the negative cable at the frame rail, avoid loosening at the battery terminals. | |
2 | Remove radiator | Model 688.1 | |

3 | Remove the belts | ||
| "V" belts - Check the condition and stretch them, if necessary | For the 374 engines | |
For the 904 engines | |||
4 | Remove the bolts (5) that fasten the rigid fan (1) to the water pump axle hub (4) | Install: Tighten the bolts up to the recommended torque. | |

5 | Remove the rigid fan (1), the supplementary device (2) and the pulley (3) | Install: Check the parts for damages and if necessary, replace them. | |
In no case turn the engine by the rigid fan. | |||
6 | Install in reverse order |
