1 Coolant thermostat

1 | Remove coolant thermostat (1) | ||
2 | Suspend coolant thermostat (1) from a wire in a vessel filled with water | ||
3 | Heat water in vessel on hot plate. | ||
4 | Measure water temperature and monitor the start of opening of the coolant thermostat (1) | Use temperature measuring instrument. | |
5 | Continue to warm up the water until short circuit valve (1/2) is closed | Use temperature measuring instrument. The short circuit valve (1/2) must close completely. | |
6 | Continue to warm up the water until main valve (1/1) is fully opened, measure stroke | Use temperature measuring instrument. The main valve (1/1) must be fully opened after 6 to 8 minutes. Replace coolant thermostat (1) if check values are not achieved. | |
7 | Install coolant thermostat (1) |
