1 Check length of brushes (A) on regulator.
If a carbon brush is below the minimum value, a new regulator must be installed.
2 Check shape of carbon brush wear.
If the carbon brushes are worn at an angle (arrow), the bearings of the alternator are damaged and the alternator must be changed.
