Remove/install

Disconnect ground line from battery.

Remove circulation pump 2 for low-temperature circuit (M43/7) and place to one side.
If installed.

Remove the poly-V-belt (5).

Remove guide pulley (6).
Bolt, guide pulley to oil filter (major assembly carrier)

Remove screws (11) and detach coolant line (12).

Remove contact protection (7).

Remove electrical line B+ (8) from alternator (G2).
Nut, circuit B+ to alternator

Release and disconnect the electrical connector for the alternator (G2).

Unscrew the screws (10) and remove the alternator (G2).

Install in the reverse order.
Warning
Risk of accident from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running.
Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.

Perform an engine test run and check the engine for proper function.
