Risk of death caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform.

Align vehicle between columns of vehicle lift and position four support plates at vehicle lift support points specified by vehicle manufacturer.

Remove rear and middle section of engine compartment paneling

Detach protective cap (1) and remove electrical lines to electrical connections (2, 3)



Remove bolts (4) and remove starter (M1) from bottom



Checking

Check starter ring gear for wear and damage

When replacing the starter (M1)

 Rotate engine at center bolt of crankshaft in the direction of rotation.


