Modification notes
20.7.10 | Disconnect compressed air line (3) from external pneumatic pressure reducing valve (2), added | Operation step 4 |
| Service Information: repair solution for pressure reducing valve in pump module of exhaust aftertreatment system | ||
| Remove/install | ||
Danger! | Risk of burn injuries and scalding when working at AdBlue lines and the components attached to them. Risk of injury to skin and eyes when handling AdBlue. Risk of poisoning caused by swallowing AdBlue | Only pour AdBlue into suitable containers. Wait until the pressure is released before starting any work on the exhaust aftertreatment system.
| Notes on use, material properties and handling of AdBlue® | ||
1 | Detach AdBlue and coolant line package and turn to the side | Installation: Replace removed cable tie. It is essential to ensure that the AdBlue lines and coolant lines are routed absolutely free of tension and possible chafe marks are avoided.
2 | Disconnect electrical connector on pump module (1)
3 | Attach pump module (1) to bracket and turn to the side
4 | Disconnect compressed air line (3) from external pneumatic compressed air valve (2)
5 | Detach AdBlue return line (4) on the external pneumatic pressure relief valve (2) and close off using a sealing piece
| Sealing piece for AdBlue return line | ||
6 | Detach AdBlue feed line (11) on the external pneumatic pressure relief valve (2) and close off using a sealing piece | In isolated cases Adblue may flow out of the AdBlue feed fitting. If this is the case: seal AdBlue feed fitting using a sealing piece.

| Sealing piece for AdBlue feed fitting on pump module | ||
7 | Remove external pneumatic pressure reducing valve (2) on the AdBlue return (5) of the pump module (1). | Ensure when replacing external pressure relief valve (2) that there are two different variants of the external pneumatic pressure relief valve. See Service Information bulletin above for notes on ordering parts.
In order to better open or tighten the hexagon of the sleeve (9) on the pump module (1), open the hexagon nut (10) and displace the banjo union (6) upwards slightly.
Installation: If the hexagon nut (10) on the sleeve (9) has been unscrewed, during assembly ensure that the shoulder inside the hexagon nut (10) points downwards towards the ring piece (6).
