1 | Remove the underfloor paneling on the right. |

2 | Raise vehicle. | ||
3 | Disconnect electrical connector (1). | ||
4 | Remove electrical wiring harness (2) of NOx sensor 1 upstream of SCR catalytic converter (B29). | To do so, unhook electrical wiring harness (2) and remove cable ties. | |
Installation: Replace cable tie. | |||
5 | Remove NOx sensor 1 upstream of SCR catalytic converter (B29). | ||
Note on calculation of tightening torque when using insertion or socket tools with various effective lengths | |||
Installation: Apply some heat-resistant lubricating paste to thread of nut of NOx sensor 1 upstream of SCR catalytic converter (B29) to be reused. | |||

6 | Remove NOx sensor control unit upstream of SCR catalytic converter (A97/1) with NOx sensor 1 upstream of SCR catalytic converter (B29). | ||

To do so, unscrew nuts (3). | |||

7 | Clean thread and sealing surfaces for NOx sensor 1 upstream of SCR catalytic converter (B29) in exhaust system. | ||
8 | Install in the reverse order. | ||
9 | Read out the fault memory using the diagnostic unit. | If NOx sensor control unit upstream of SCR catalytic converter (A97/1) was replaced. | |
| Connect STAR DIAGNOSIS and read out fault memory | ||

Erase the fault memory. | |||
