1 | Remove exhaust gas recirculation cooler | ||
2 | Remove mixing chamber | ||
3 | Remove center and rear engine compartment paneling downwards | ||
4 | Unscrew screw/bolts (2) and remove bracket (1) | ||

5 | Detach fuel hose (3) at high-pressure pump and close off with grommets | Record plug | |
6 | Check clamp for damage and replace if necessary | ||
7 | Detach exhaust flap switchover valve (Y93) from holder (6) and place with attached lines to one side | ||
8 | Remove screw/bolts (4, 5) and place holder (6) to with wiring harness to one side | Bolt, exhaust gas recirculation valve bracket to cylinder crankcase | |

9 | Disconnect electrical connection (7) on exhaust gas recirculation actuator (Y27/9) | ||
10 | Unclip vacuum hose (8) | ||
11 | Remove screw/bolt (9) and exhaust gas recirculation actuator (Y279) with bypass flap for exhaust gas recirculation | Installation: Replace seals. | |

12 | Install in the reverse order | ||

13 | Check engine cooling system for leaktightness | ||
