1 | Open lower maintenance flap at the right rear on the vehicle | ||
2 | Raise vehicle | ||
3 | Remove engine compartment paneling below radiator unit | ||
4 | Remove lower charge air cooler (10) from charge air cooler (1) | Only perform the steps until the lower charge air pipe (10) can be pried off the connection fitting on the charge air cooler (1). | |
5 | Remove upper charge air cooler (11) from charge air cooler (1) | Only perform the steps until the upper charge air pipe (11) can be pried off the connection fitting on the charge air cooler (1). | |
6 | Shim the charge air cooler (1) and secure against falling down with a suitable major assembly lifting device | ||

7 | Remove screw/bolt (arrows) and charge air cooler (1) from radiator (4) | ||
8 | Install in the reverse order |
