Remove/install

Switch off ignition.

Remove engine cover (1).

Remove fill level sensor electrical connector (7) from MR/PLD control unit (9).

Release and disconnect vehicle wiring harness electrical connector (5) from MR/PLD control unit (9)

 Release vehicle wiring harness electrical connector (5) by pressing the retainer.

Release and disconnect engine wiring harness electrical connector (6) from MR/PLD control unit (9)

 Release engine wiring harness electrical connector (6) by swiveling the retainer.

Remove MR/PLD control unit (9) from crankcase.

 Do not disassemble MR/PLD control unit (9).

 Installation: Attach spacers (2) and rubber dampers (3) to MR/PLD control unit (9) in advance using screws (4). Observe installation position of rubber dampers (3).

 Screw, control unit (MR/PLD) to crankcase

Install in the reverse order

Connect diagnostic system and load new data record into MR/PLD control unit (9).

Only if the MR/PLD control unit (9) was replaced.

Disconnect diagnostic system.

Only if new data record has been loaded into MR/PLD control unit (9).
