Turn injection pump shaft so that the marking (arrow) in the spline of the drive pinion is facing toward the distributor flange (stamped letter A) of the injection pipe for cylinder 1. Turn injection pump shaft to the right until a resistance is felt (start of pump stroke) and push coupling sleeve onto drive pinion.
