Ensure that no one is within the tilting range of the cab as it is being tilted. Always tilt the cab all the way to the end position and secure it with the safety strut.

Install/remove

Switch off ignition.

Tilt cab.

Remove noise encapsulation.

Remove bracket (1) for the oil suction pipe from the engine management (MCM) control unit (A4) and place oil suction pipe to one side in the vehicle frame.

Remove screws (4) and detach plug socket housing (2) from engine management (MCM) control unit (A4).

Detach plug socket housing (3) from engine management (MCM) control unit (A4).

Connect connecting cable (5) with plug socket housing (3) of the vehicle wiring harness and lock.

 Thread in connecting cable (5) between the engine and vehicle frame from the top.

Connect connecting cable (5) with the plug socket housing (2) of the engine wiring harness and lock.

Route connecting cable (5) along the vehicle frame toward the rear.


Guide connecting cable (5) under the cab suspension system without chafing and fix in place with cable ties.
Otherwise, the connecting cable (5) may be damaged.

Connect both plug socket housings of the connecting cable (5) to the engine management (MCM) control unit (6) and lock.

Fasten engine management (MCM) control unit (6) to the vehicle with cable ties at a suitable point.

Attach bracket (1) for oil suction pipe to the engine management (MCM) control unit (A4).

Install noise encapsulation.

Tilt back cab.


Do not get connecting cable (5) caught in moving parts.
Otherwise, the connecting cable (5) may be damaged.

Switch on ignition.

Connect diagnostic system, start XENTRY and perform quick test.

Select "Commissioning of a vehicle transfer control unit" and follow the instructions.

End XENTRY and remove the diagnostic system.

Remove in reverse order.
