Preparatory tasks

Remove cylinder head (1).

Attach cylinder head (1) to the assembly device.


Before commissioning the  assembly device, ensure that the counterholders of the  assembly device are attached correctly to the cylinder head (1).
Otherwise, there is a danger that the cylinder head (1) will be pressed upward out of the  assembly device and the cylinder head (1) or valves (5) will be damaged.

Attach assembly lever (03) to the sliding piece (05).

 Position depressor (04) vertically on the valve spring retainer (2) and align sliding piece (05).

Connect compressed-air supply system to assembly device.

Remove

Push air bellows of the assembly device with the lever so that the air bellows is aligned with the combustion chamber of the respective valves (5).


Ensure that the air bellows of the  assembly device is always aligned correctly with a combustion chamber and presses into the center.
The air bellows may otherwise be pushed out of the side of the combustion chamber and this causes damage to the valves (5).

Open compressed air valve on assembly device.

The air bellows of the  assembly device presses onto the valve disks in the combustion chamber.

Compress respective valve spring (3) with the depressor (04) and remove valve keepers (4).

Remove valve spring retainer (2) and valve spring (3).

Remove valve stem seal (6).

 Dispose of valve stem seal (6).

Close compressed air valve on the assembly device.

Relieve pressure in air bellows of assembly device.

 Observe operating instructions for assembly device  .

Perform operation steps when removing further valve springs (3) in the same way.

 Operation steps 5 to 11.



Check

Perform a visual check of all component parts of the valve train for damage and wear.

If damage and wear are present,



Replace affected components.



Install

Push air bellows of the assembly device with the lever so that the air bellows is aligned with the combustion chamber of the respective valves (5).


Ensure that the air bellows of the  assembly device is always aligned correctly with a combustion chamber and presses into the center.

Install new valve stem seal (6).

Install valve spring retainer (2) and valve spring (3).

Compress valve spring (3) with depressor (04) and install valve keepers (4).


Ensure that the valve keepers (4) are reliably seated.
This prevents the valve (5) from loosening.
