Preparation:
- Take off half shell of star handle hub,
- screw star handle hub down off spindle tube,
- take centering tube off spindle tube, and
- take bearing flange of V engine off centering tube.
1 Bolt bearing flange of inline engine (2) onto crankcase.
2 Bolt centering tube (1) of removal and insertion device onto crankcase.

3 Insert bearing sleeve (arrow) into the camshaft bearing to be removed (accessible from timing case side).
Additionally for guiding the spindle tube, insert a bearing sleeve into camshaft bearing 7 (collar bearing).
- Remove only one camshaft bearing during each operation.
- When removing camshaft bearing 7 (collar bearing), insert the bearing sleeve the opposite way around.

4 Screw star handle hub (1) onto the spindle tube (2) and insert spindle tube into the centering tube (3).
5 Turn spindle tube radially until the locking pin (4) of the centering tube locks in place.

6 Insert locking piece (1) into the groove (2) behind the bearing sleeve (3).
Insert locking piece ahead of bearing sleeve in the case of camshaft bearing 7 (collar bearing).

7 Screw star handle (1) into hub (2) and pull out camshaft bearing by turning to the right.
- Remove only one camshaft bearing during each operation.
Camshaft bearing 7 (collar bearing)
- In the case of camshaft bearing 7 (collar bearing), connect star handle hub in centering tube with the half shell.
- Turn star handle to the left when pulling out bearing.
8 Take out locking piece at the bearing sleeve.
9 Pull spindle tube complete with hub and star handle out of the crankcase.
