1 Use  wrench (3) to rotate exhaust camshaft (1) and inlet camshaft (2) sufficiently so that the base circles of the cams are touching the bucket tappets if possible.

 The camshafts are very sensitive to fracturing. When removing and installing, ensure that the cam base circles are touching the bucket tappets if possible. This position largely eliminates the stress of the camshafts in the bearing points.

2 Unscrew collar bolts (5) and remove camshaft bearing caps (4).

3 Take out exhaust camshaft (1) and inlet camshaft (2).

4 Oil bucket tappet (6) and camshaft bearing points (arrows).

5 Place exhaust camshaft and inlet camshaft into the camshaft bearing points so that the base circles of the cams are making contact with the bucket tappets if possible.

 The camshaft code number is inscribed with laser on the 2nd camshaft bearing (arrow).

 The camshaft bearings are consecutively numbered from 1 - 10, beginning at the front of the exhaust camshaft.

The figures are stamped in the bearing caps and cast in the cylinder head.

When installing the camshaft bearing caps, pay attention to the numbering and re-install the camshaft bearing caps at the same point.

6 Insert camshaft bearing caps (4) with collar bolts (5) onto exhaust camshaft (1) and inlet camshaft (2).

7 Tighten collar bolts (5) evenly to the final torque.

 Pay attention to tightening torque .

8 Use  wrench (3) to rotate exhaust camshaft (1) and inlet camshaft sufficiently until the  retaining pins (7) can be inserted.
