Remove/install retaining lock for crankshaft/ring gear

Remove/Install

 Danger!

Risk of death caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform.

Align vehicle between the columns of the lifting platform and position the four support plates below the hoist support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer.

Remove bottom part of noise encapsulation

 Only rear part.

Remove cover (1)

Insert the retaining lock (2) in the starter opening

 Allow retaining lock to engage into the ring gear; crank the engine at the crankshaft in direction of engine rotation if required.
