Removing:
1 Unscrew the bolts (2, 4) of the bearing caps (3).
Pay attention to the correct order.
2 Remove bearing caps (3) together with bearing shells.
Mark the installation position of the bearing caps relative to crankcase.

3 Take the bearing shells (1) off the bearing caps (3).
Mark the installation position of the bearing shells relative to the bearing cap.
Installing:
4 Measure length of shank of bolts for crankshaft bearing caps.
If the specified shank lengths are exceeded, the bolts must be replaced.
5 Clean the bearing caps (3) with a chamois leather.
6 Install the bearing shells (1) into the bearing caps in accordance with the markings made.
The locking lugs (arrow) of the bearing shells must be located in the slots of the bearing caps. Moisten the contact surfaces of the bearing shells with engine oil.

7 Insert the bearing caps into the crankcase in accordance with the markings made.
8 Lightly oil the thread and head contact surface of the bolts of the bearing caps.
9 First of all tighten bolts (4) and then bolts (2) to the specified tightening torque and angle ° .
10 Rotate crankshaft (to inspect ease of movement).
