1 Insert new sealing rings (1, 2) into the two bottom grooves of the crankcase.
Engine 402.970 in model 613.455/ 485: Insert the sealing rings dry.
Engine 447, 489: Grease sealing rings with ATE grease before installing. Pay attention to the color of the sealing rings.

2 Insert new sealing ring (1) into the cleaned groove of the cylinder liner (2).

3.1 Insert additional sealing ring (1) below the collar (2) of the cylinder liner.
Only engine 447, 489 with turbocharger.

4 Apply sealant with hand gun (1).
All engines:
- Pay attention to the specified quantity of sealant when applying.
- The sealant must only be used when in a pasty state.
- Once the cartridge is open, the sealant has a shelf life of about 4 weeks.
Only engine 402.970 in model 613.455/ 485:
- Apply the sealant directly onto the sealing ring in a bead of about 2-3mm .

Applying sealant:
- On normally aspirated engines (B) with one sealing ring (2), apply sealant (1) on the inside.
- On turbocharged engines (A) with two sealing rings (2, 3), apply the sealant (1) on the outside.
