1 Mount turning tool onto the cylinder bore to be machined so that the distance from the edge of the cylinder bore to the edge of the magnet ring (1) is the same all round (pre-center).
2 Switch on solenoid of turning tool (switch position '1').
3 Turn infeed nut (2) in anti-clockwise direction until the centering roller (3) of the cutting tool is positioned above the liner collar (arrow).
Counter-hold rotary crank (4) when performing this step.
T01.40-0030-01
4 Pull up quick-adjusting ring (5) and push cutting tool (6) through until the centering roller (3) is touching the side wall (arrow) of the liner collar.
5 Switch solenoid off (switch position '0').
The turning tool is held tight slightly on the sealing surface as a result of the residual magnetism in the magnet ring.
T01.40-0031-01
During the subsequent steps, the infeed nut (8) must on no account be moved when turning the drive crank (7) otherwise the depth setting of the cutting tool will be altered.
If necessary, the stud bolt (9) in the infeed nut (8) must be re-tightened.

6 Turn drive crank (10) in clockwise direction and check centering.
The centering is correct if the centering roller runs evenly around the entire circumference (arrow) and the turning tool does not move (switch position '0').
If the turning tool moves:
- Turn drive crank (10) in clockwise direction and hold face infeed ring (11) tight.
If the centering roller loses contact to the edge of the liner collar:
- Turn drive crank (10) in anti-clockwise direction and hold face infeed ring (11) tight until the centering roller is again making contact around the entire circumference.
