Install transmission support

 Danger !

Risk of death caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform.

Align vehicle between vehicle lift columns and position the four support plates at the vehicle lift support points specified by vehicle manufacturer.

Model 636, model 639 except code ZG2 (All-wheel drive, permanent)
 Put on holding device (1) and secure with  clamp screw (2).

 The  holding device (1) must sit correctly.

Model 636, model 639 except code ZG2 (All-wheel drive, permanent)
 Place support (3) above and fasten with  nuts (4).

 The  support (3) must lie on the transmission or on engine according to the continued work.

Remove  holding device (1) in reverse order.

with CODE ZG2 (Permanent all-wheel drive)
 Install support brace (6) .

 Fix support brace (6) above and fasten with  nuts (5).

 The  support brace (6) must lie on the transmission or on engine according to the continued work.

Remove  support brace (6) in reverse order.

 Insert upper retaining point (7) into axle/engine subframe as shown.

 Insert holding device (8) at front between axle/engine subframe and oil pan.

  For this purpose arresting gear (11) must be released.

 Insert support brace (9) at rear into  holding device (8) .

 Screw arresting gear (10) into the  upper retaining point (7) .

  Do not tighten arresting gear (10) yet.

 Fix holding device (8) in place at front.

 To do this tighten  arresting gear (11) .

 Align support brace (9) so that it makes contact with transmission or engine depending on further work.

Tighten nuts on  support brace (9) as well as  arresting gear (10) .

 Check whether  holding device (8) is seated correctly.

Remove  holding device (8) in reverse order.
