Danger | Risk of explosion caused by welding or soldering work on closed air conditioning system. Risk of poisoning caused by inhaling overheated refrigerant vapors. Risk of injury to skin and eyes caused by contact with liquid refrigerant. | Never perform welding work on or near a closed air conditioning system. No smoking or open flames. Wear safety glasses and protective gloves. Work only in well ventilated areas. Carry out repair work on the air conditioning system circuit only after the system has been drained.
Topical note | Protect air conditioning circuit and components from moisture when carrying out repair work
1 | Run engine and switch on air conditioning | See air conditioning system operating instructions.
2 | Switch off air conditioning and engine after 20 minutes
3 | After 5 min waiting time, check oil level through inspection glass (3) of refrigerant compressor (1) | The oil level is correct if the oil level in the inspection glass (3) is in the upper area.
If the oil level is too low, check the refrigerant compressor (1) for external leakage, and correct oil level if necessary:
| |||
To do so, perform steps 4 to 8 subject to separate repair order.
Adjust to correct level
4 | Drain air conditioning system
| Air conditioning | ||
5 | Open filling screw (2)
6 | Pour in missing quantity of oil for refrigerant compressor
| Compressor oils (specification 362.0) | ||
| |||
The oil for the refrigerant compressor is hygroscopic (moisture absorbing). Immediately close the oil reservoir tightly and pour the measured quantity of oil into the refrigerant compressor (1) immediately.
7 | Screw in filling screw (2) with new seal | Bolt, refrigerant compressor oil replenishment
8 | Charge air conditioning system
