1 | Switch ventilation in passenger compartment to recirculated air mode | See air conditioning operating instructions. | |

2 | Switch off ignition | While working in the openings of the recirculated air flaps (3) do not operate the operating module of the air conditioning. | |
3 | Use suitable means in the working area to protect the passenger seats from contamination | ||
4 | Remove the covers (1) of the recirculated air flaps (3) | ||
Danger! | Risk of injury from cuts and grazes on sharp-edged vehicle components | When working on or in area of sharp vehicle parts with burrs always wear protective gloves. Deburr repair panels. | |
5 | Detach fine filter (4) from evaporator | The fine filter (4) is connected to the evaporator by wires (5). | |
6 | Remove fine filter (4) | ||
7 | Clean any contamination in the housing box (2) | ||
8 | Clean fine filter (4) outside the vehicle | Wash out the fine filter (4) with water and dry carefully with compressed air. | |
| Install | ||
9 | Attach fine filter (4) to the evaporator | Do not damage the evaporator cooling pipes when reinstalling the fine filter (4). | |
Thin tie straps can also be used instead of wires (5). | |||
10 | Reinstall covers (1) of recirculated air flaps (3) |
