1 | Check condition of wiper blades (A) and wiper-blade rubber (B) as well as wiper arms | Check for signs of hardening and cracks, if necessary replace. Replace as a separate repair order only. | |
2 | Check function of spray nozzles for proper operation and setting | The spray nozzles must be set such that the washer fluid is uniformly distributed on the wipe area on the pane, if necessary use a suitable needle to clean and reset clogged up spray nozzles. | |
3 | Switch steering-column lock to driving position and switch on ignition | ||
4 | Switch on windshield wiper by turning the combination switch in direction (1) | Check all three position for proper operation: I Intermittent wiping II Normal wiping III Rapid wiping | |
5 | Switch off windshield wipers. | ||
6 | Switch on windshield washer system by pressing the combination switch in direction (2) | The windshield wiper and washer fluid pump must switch on at the same time. The entire wipe area must be cleaned and wiped dry without any streaking. | |
7 | Switch on low beam. | ||
8 | Switch on windshield washer system by pressing the combination switch in direction (2) | Check function of windshield and headlamp washer systems. The washer fluid pump, windshield wiper and the headlamp wipers must all switch on at the same time. | |
9 | Switch off low beam | ||
10 | Switch steering-column lock to position "0" |
