Risk of accident from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running.

Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.

Remove

1

Completely remove pressure in compressed-air system by operating the brake pedal and parking brake lever several times.

Remove left rear fender.

Only with model 405.05/101/103/121/123/201/221

Remove bracket (1) from frame.

Only with model 405.05/100/101/102/103/120/121/122/123/200/201/220/221

Remove screw plug (2).

5

Remove sealing ring (3), spring (4) and valve (5) from screw plug (2).



Check

6

Check removed valve (5) for damage.

 The valve (5) must be complete.

If parts of valve (5) are in the pressure regulator,



remove all broken-off parts from pressure regulator or compressed-air drier.



Install

7

Attach new sealing ring (3), spring (4) and valve (5) to screw plug (2).

Screw in screw plug (2).

 Check valve screw plug to air drier

Check

9

Start engine and check leak tightness of screw plug (2).

Switch off engine.
