| Check | ||
1 | Assess brakepad thickness (1) of brakepads on front axle. | If necessary, use a flashlight (2) or a mirror (3). The thickness of the pad backing plate can be used as a reference when assessing the brake lining thickness (1).
Brake lining | |||
If, in exceptional cases, assessment through visual inspection is not possible:
| |||
Remove front wheels and assess them subject to separate repair order.
2 | Assess brakepad thickness (1) of brakepads on rear axle. | If necessary, use a flashlight (2) or a mirror (3). The thickness of the pad backing plate can be used as a reference when assessing the brake lining thickness (1).
Brake lining | |||
If, in exceptional cases, assessment through visual inspection is not possible:
| |||
Remove rear wheels and assess them.
Subject to separate repair order.
3 | Determine expected remaining distance of brakepads.
To determine the prospective remaining distance for each axle, refer to the brakepad with the least brakepad thickness (1).
If the wear limit for the brakepads is reached,
| |||
Replace brake linings.
Subject to separate repair order. |
