The tire pressure can increase by more than 10 % when the tires are at operating temperature. Do not reduce the tire pressure when the tires are at operating temperature.
The tire pressure specifications relate to the standard temperature of 20 °C.
In the following table the tire pressures are assigned corresponding to the axle loads and different service speeds for the vehicle.
In case of doubt, always select the next higher tire pressures. Adequate tire load capacities are a prerequisite.
A tire pressure below 2.0 bar may only be set if the tires are equipped with a retaining ring (on vehicles with code A30 (Tire pressure control system (tire control))) or with code R77 (Run-flat segment).

Tire pressure reductions for off-road
The tire pressures for freeing a vehicle which has got stuck must not be dropped below. When using these tire pressures, do not introduce any lateral forces, steering angle or any tilting.
Reduce tire pressure only as far as required.
The tire pressure reductions are only valid for the tires (size and thread depth) directly listed in the table. A transfer to other versions or tread patterns is not permissible.
If after a trip with lowered tire pressure, the tires at operating temperature are again inflated to be driven "on-the-road", a higher tire pressure has to be set than the one in the table. Guideline value: Tires at operating temperature +10 %.
On vehicles with code A30 (Tire pressure control system (tire control)), the tire pressure set during normal on-road driving (display in driver information system (FIS)) is used as a reference value. Correct the tire pressure at the next opportunity (cooled tires).
