Preparatory activity

Lift vehicle on vehicle lift



Vehicle must be horizontal.
Otherwise the rear axle differential will not be filled correctly and an incorrect oil filling capacity can lead to leakage and damage.



Clean

Clean area surrounding drain plug (50h) and filling screw (50g)



Remove

Remove filling screw (50g)

Drain off

Remove drain screw (50h) and drain oil from rear axle differential



Clean

Clean threaded hole in rear axle differential

Loctite 7063 (400 ml) cleaning spray

Install

Apply a drop of sealant to start of lower thread on new drain screw (50h) and tighten new drain screw (50h) immediately


Install a new drain plug (50h) each time it is removed.
Otherwise, this may lead to leakage and consequential damage.

Add oil to rear axle differential up to lower edge of filler hole

Clean

Clean filler hole in rear axle differential

Loctite 7063 (400 ml) cleaning spray

Install

Apply a drop of sealant to start of lower thread on new filling screw (50g) and tighten new filling screw (50g) immediately


Install a new filling screw (50g) each time it is removed.
Otherwise, this may lead to leakage and consequential damage.
