1 | Apply the parking brake and release lightly the wheel clamping nuts | ||
2 | Lift vehicle and support it on racks located under the front axle beam | The easels must be supported on the axle ends. | |
3 | Remove the front wheels | ||
4 | Remove wheel hub (4) | ||

5 | Dismount the wheel hub (4) | ||

| Clean | ||
6 | Remove the lubricating grease used on wheel hub (4) and tapered bearings (3, 5) | Do not use solvents to remove the lubricating grease and clean the bearings and the wheel hub. For cleaning, use a clean and lint-free cloth. | |
| Check | ||
7 | Check the tapered bearings (3, 5) for wearing or damages | In case of wear or damage in any of the bearings - either internal or external - or their races, they should be replaced always in pairs. | |
| Install | ||
8 | Mount the wheel hub (4) | ||
| Front axle 739.395/396/397 | ||
Lubricating grease rigorously the tapered roller bearings (3, 5). Refill the wheel hub (4) and the cover (11) with the prescribed amount of lubricating grease. | |||
Install a new radial seal ring. | |||

9 | Install wheel hub (4) | ||

11 | Lower the vehicle from the easel and tighten the fixing nuts with the prescribed torque | Front axles 739.3Nuts with integrated washer - centering in the wheel hub |
