 Caution

Risk of injury to skin and eyes due to handling of transmission oil. Health risk caused by swallowing transmission oil

Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses.
Do not pour transmission oil into beverage bottles.

Draining

Remove lower engine compartment lining.

Only if this was not already removed for other maintenance operations.



Clean area around drain screw (1) and filling screw (2) on front axle differential (3).

Remove filling screw (2).

Position suitable receptacle under drain screw (1), unscrew drain screw (1) and drain transmission oil completely.

Screw in drain screw (1).

 Install a new drain screw (1).

 With engine 651, 654Drain screw

Pour in

Add transmission oil up to the lower edge of the filler opening.

Screw in filling screw (2).

 Replace filling screw (2).

 With engine 651, 654Filling screw

Install lower engine compartment paneling.



 Mount lower engine compartment paneling only after completion of all maintenance operations.

Confirm conducted operations in maintenance booklet or in Digital Service Booklet (DSB).
