With a rag, clean around the filler plug (1)

 Only check the oil level when cold. When the gearbox is hot, the oil level is higher, causing an erroneous reading.

Remove the filler and level plug (1)

 If system is correctly filled up, oil level should be on supply plug lower edge.

 If there is oil missing, due to leakage, identify the cause and correct.

Check the oil level and correct

 Fill with oil to the bottom edge of the filler plug opening.
