Engine: changing the oil and replacing the filter

10 Oil drain screw

	Only change engine oil when engine is at normal operating temperature
1	Remove soundproofing below the oil pan
2	Open engine compartment flap at rear
3.1	Unscrew oil drain screw at oil pan (10) at oil pan and drain oil completely.
3.2	Extract engine oil		AP18.00-T-0101-02B

4	Screw in oil drain plug of oil pan	  Replace seal for oil drain screw, clean oil drain screw.	*BA01.45-N-1002-01G
5	Replace oil filter element (6)	 Clean outside of oil filter head and oil filter bowls. The annular gap between oil filter head and the oil filter bowls must be free of impurities.  Installation: Replace all sealing rings (3, 5).	AP18.00-T-0101-06B

6	Pour in engine oil through the oil filler neck		*BF18.00-N-1001-01D
	Checking
 Danger!	Risk of accident caused by vehicle starting off by itself when engine is running. Risk of injury caused by contusions and burns when working in engine during starting procedure	 Secure vehicle to prevent it from moving off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not grasp hot or rotating parts.	AS00.00-Z-0005-01A
7	Crank engine by operating the starter	 When operating the starter, at the same time press the engine stop button, if fitted, in order to prevent the engine from starting. Observe oil pressure gauge! It must indicate pressure after a few seconds. Do not operate the starter for more than 20 seconds. After this, wait one minute.
8	Start engine	 Run engine until warm.
9	Inspect oil drain plug and oil filter bowl for leaks
10	Turn off engine	Wait about 5 minutes before inspecting oil level, adjust to correct level if necessary.
11	Install soundproofing below the oil pan
