Faults (activation of line interruption or short circuit, short circuit in the valve) are detected by the ETC control module and sent via the CAN data bus to the ME-SFI control module. The faults are stored and the "CHECK ENGINE" malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) is activated by the ME-SFI control module.
