Risk of injury caused by pinching or crushing when working on springs or spring bodies that are under tension

Use only approved tensioning devices; additionally screen off hazardous area if necessary. Check special tools for damage and proper operation (visual inspection). Wear protective gloves.

Remove/install

Open engine hood

 See information from vehicle manufacturer.

Remove V-belt for fan

Push radiator unit to the front, tensioner pulley (8) over its screw/bolt and against the spring tension, swivel upwards and remove poly-V belt (9)


Do not kink poly-V belt (9).
The poly-V belt (9) will be damaged otherwise.

 Installation: Ensure that poly-V belt (9) is seated correctly.

Swivel tensioner pulley (12) over the recessed square and against the spring tension, swivel to the right and remove poly-V belt (13)


Do not kink poly-V belt (13).
The poly-V belt (13) will be damaged otherwise.

 Installation: Ensure that poly-V belt (13) is seated correctly.

Push radiator unit to the front, tensioner pulley (10) over its screw/bolt and against the spring tension, swivel upwards and remove poly-V belt (11)


Do not kink poly-V belt (11).
The poly-V belt (11) will be damaged otherwise.

 Installation: Ensure that poly-V belt (11) is seated correctly.



Check

Check poly-V belt (9, 11, 13) for wear and damage



In the event of complaints:



Replace poly-V belt (9, 11 or 13).

Check tensioner pulleys (8, 10, 12), all belt pulleys and guide pulleys for wear and damage



Replace corresponding components.
