Illustrated on model 169
N69/1 Door control module front left
Location
The left front door control unit is located on the rear door module behind the door paneling on the left front door.
Task
The left front door control unit has the following tasks:
Reading in of sensors, pickups and signals
Evaluation of input factors
Controlling function sequences
Actuation of components
Reading in of sensors, pickups and signals
The input factors are read in with the following connections:
Direct line
Front door LIN
Interior CAN
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Direct line
The following sensors are read in via a direct line:
- Left front IR receiver (A26/1)
(model 169.0, 245.2 with code (584) Two rear power windows or model 169.3 with code (583) Two front power windows with convenience feature)
- Hall sensor in left front power window motor (M10/3)
- Left front door rotary tumbler microswitch (M14/6s1)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Front door LIN
The following components re read in via the front door LIN:
The operating switches of the driver outside mirror adjustment and CL power window switch group (S20/1) consist of:
- Left front power window switch (S20/1s1)
- Right front power window switch (S20/1s2)
- Left rear power window switch (S20/1s3)
(with code (584) Two rear power windows)
- Right rear power window switch (S20/1s4)
(with code (584) Two rear power windows)
- Rear side window child safety lock switch (S20/1s5)
(with code (584) Two rear power windows)
- Outside mirror folding in and out switch (S20/1s9)
(with code (500) Folding left/right outside mirrors)
- Left outside mirror adjustment selection switch (S20/1s10)
- Right outside mirror adjustment selection switch (S20/1s11)
- Outside mirror adjustment rocker switch (S20/1s12)
- 'Unlock CL [ZV]' interior switch (S20/1s13)
- 'Lock CL [ZV]' interior switch (S20/1s14)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The left front door control unit supplies the connected controls with power from circuit 58d.
Interior CAN
The signals are read in by the left front door control unit via the interior CAN.
The functions resulting therefrom are described in the corresponding function descriptions (see block diagram or function schematic).
Evaluation of input factors
The input factors that have been read in are evaluated by the integrated microprocessor and the affected components are then actuated.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Controlling function sequences
The left front door control unit controls the following function sequences:
- Manual or automatic opening and closing of power windows (PW [EFH])
- Convenience feature of power windows (PW [EFH])
- Excess force limitation during automatic closing of power window
- Outside mirror adjustment
- Actuating central locking (CL)
- Actuating door illumination
- Switch and control illumination in operation switches
Actuation of components
The actuation of the components takes place via the following connections:
Direct line
Interior CAN
Direct line
The following components are actuated via a direct line:
- Left outside mirror turn signal lamp (E6/5)
- Left front door entrance/exit lamp (E17/3)
(with code (U62) Light and vision package)
- Left front power window motor
- Left front door CL [ZV] motor (M14/6)
- Left electrically adjustable and heated outside mirror (M21/1)
- Mirror up/down adjustment motor (M21/1m1)
- Mirror adjustment up/out motor (M21/1m2)
- Power folding mirror (M21/1m3)
(with code (500) Left/right folding outside mirror)
- Mirror heater (M21/1r1)
Interior CAN
The signals are transmitted by the left front door control unit via the interior CAN.
The functions resulting therefrom are described in the corresponding function descriptions (see block diagram or function schematic).
