Raise vehicle at front axle and place on jack stands. Remove wheels

Remove brake wear indicator at brake caliper (18)

Detach brake line with bracket (16)

Remove brake caliper (18) at front steering knuckle

 Installation: Replace bolts (17).

Remove collar nut (14) at front wheel hub (4)

 Installation: Replace collar nut (14).

Remove driver (12)

 Installation: Install new bolts (13).
Check condition of seal on transfer element, replace as indicated.

Remove slotted nuts (9, 11) and thrust washer (8) of front wheel hub (4)

 Installation: Install new locking plate (10).
Do not bend over lockplate until after the wheel bearing end float has been checked and adjusted.

Remove front wheel hub (4) with brake disc from steering knuckle

 Clean front wheel hub with brake rotor.
 Installation: Replace radial shaft sealing ring (2) and PU sealing ring (1).
Check tapered roller bearings (3, 7) for wear and replace if necessary.
Thoroughly grease tapered roller bearings (3, 7) prior to installation.
 Do not apply sealing compound to sealing rings with partially rubberized sealing surfaces.

 Lower vehicle only after adjusting wheel bearing play.
