Disconnect/connect ground line (W10)

 Only required when removing the right engine mount.

Installation: After connecting, read out fault memory, encode radio and normalize power windows.

Vehicles with stationary heater: adjust time display on stationary heater.

Remove engine compartment covering (1)

Remove shield (13) on relay lever (14)

 With engine 112

Only required when removing right engine mount.

Unscrew bolts (2) connecting engine mount (3) to front axle carrier



Remove air filter (4)

 Remove air filter by lifting vertically up and off cylinder head covers.

Remove viscous fan (5)

Remove hot film mass air flow sensor (6) together with air intake pipe (7)

Remove fan shroud (8)

With engine 112

Unscrew bolts (9) connecting engine mount (3) to engine support



Put on engine carrier arm

Raise engine at front lifting eye

 Ensure that rear of engine does not touch the body!

Do not overstretch coolant hoses

Remove shields (10)

Installation:

 The cutouts in the shields (10) must sit in the anti-twist locks on the engine mount (3).

Remove engine mounts (3)

Installation:

 The anti-twist locks (arrows) at engine mounts (3) must fit in retaining grooves (arrows) of the engine supports.

Dispose engine mounts into mixed scrap.

Install in the reverse order

Read/erase fault memory.

Stored faults which can result from cables being disconnected or from simulation during removal and installation or test work, have to be processed and erased in the fault memories after completing the work.
