Remove

1

Remove head unit (1) and move out of working area with attached electric lines

Place head unit (1) onto a suitable protective base (6).
Otherwise, component parts on the instrument panel or center console may be damaged.

Remove electrical wiring harness (2) from holder of instrument panel (arrow A)

Pull electrical wiring harness (2) far enough behind instrument panel until the ocher-colored electrical connector (3) is accessible

4

Disconnect ocher-colored electrical connector (3)

5

Wrap felt tape around connector housing of ocher-colored electrical connector (3) and strap down

 The Bluetooth® antenna (4) installed at the factory remains in the vehicle.

Clean

Clean bonding surface in cross-hatched area on instrument panel


The bonding surface must be free of dust and grease.
Otherwise adhesion problems may occur.



Install

Wrap felt tape around antenna line (5) of new Bluetooth® antenna (4)

Route antenna line (5) of new Bluetooth® antenna (4) using a suitable puller aid along the air duct to the installation location for the head unit (1)


Make sure that the antenna line (5) for the new Bluetooth® antenna (4) is routed correctly.
Otherwise, the Bluetooth® antenna (4) may malfunction or noise may be generated when driving.

Stick new Bluetooth® antenna (4) to previously cleaned surface on instrument panel

3M Acrylic Plus adhesive tape PT1100, double sided, black, 12 mm wide

Connect ocher-colored electrical connector (3)

Hook electrical wiring harness (2) into holder of instrument panel (arrow A)

Install head unit (1)

Check Bluetooth® connection

 The Bluetooth® connection can be checked by connecting a mobile phone.
